The Miami ResilientSea project is a holistic initiative that unites science, education, and grassroots action to advance climate resilience across Miami-Dade County. Spearheaded by the University of Miami and partners like The CLEO Institute, Black Women in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Science, Rescue a Reef program, Debris Free Oceans, Frost Science Museum, and Miami Waterkeeper, this project addresses urgent climate and environmental challenges through inclusive engagement, ecological restoration, and community empowerment.
This a multi-year project with plans to engage with over 2,000 participants across 40+ events, removing over 3,000 pounds of debris, planting 5,000 plants, restoring 2500 coral colonies, and more!
